Dear King Middle School Families and Community,

I am writing to share that Co-Superintendent Melea Nalli and myself will be recommending to the Board of Public Education that Amy Marx serve as the next principal of King Middle School, beginning July 1. After a selection process that included 14 candidates from multiple states and multiple rounds of screening, we are confident that Ms. Marx is the right leader for the King community moving forward.  Thank you to the members of the King community that participated in the interview process. 

Ms. Marx has significant school leadership experience with the EL Education model having served as principal at the Harbor School in Boston and more recently at Harpswell Coastal Academy. She also has additional local and international school leadership experience. Ms. Marx brings experience in growing a schoolwide vision, meeting the needs of diverse learners, and being a strong community builder and communicator.

We will present this recommendation to the Board at its next meeting on Tuesday, June 6th, and we look forward to her introducing herself to all of you!
