Extended learning initiative for King students wins $2500 award

King's Seize the Day, Extend the Day program won a $2500 award from Farmers Insurance. Thanks to our families and friends for supporting this effort. Read more about the program and award here.

With the beginning of the year business out of the way,
King teachers and students are busy in every house at every grade level
in new learning expeditions. To learn about our current expeditions, or

Supeintendent Caulk Takes the Ice Bucket Challenge on Opening Day at King

Superintendent Caulk, along with former Portland
Education Association President Kathleen Casasa, took the challenge in
front or the new 6th grade class at King. Mr. Caulk dedicated the event
to Deering Social Worker, Nan Urban, who passed away from ALS, and said
that donations were being made to the ALS Association, as well as to eHope.

We begin our regular school schedule, 8:15 - 2:30, on Wednesday.

Drop Off and Pick Up Safely
The school traffic circle is for buses only during drop off and pick up times. Please do not drop children at the entrance to the back parking lot. Be sure to observe the 15 MPH speed limit to avoid tickets in excess of $300.

Karen MacDonald - Maine Teacher of the Year- meets with the President in Washington May 2014
Windsor 6 LA Teacher Karen MacDonald is in the capitol
this week, with her couterparts from 49 other states, in recognition and
celebration of her role as Maine Teacher of the Year. The week
culminates in a ceremony at the White House hosted by President Obama,
which will be streamed live on whitehouse.gov at 2 pm on Thursday.
