Capitalizing on the strong pitching of Trey Roberts and timely hitting from Brayden Young, Devon Daligan, Blain Alves and Matthew Breece, King's baseball team defeated Lyman Moore 7-1 to finish their season. The team was also led by 8th grades Nick O'Malley, Nicholas Lawsure, Marcus Machado and Julin Chapman and 7th graders Philip Martin and James Cagney.

When athletes join track, they look to the older kids to see what to do. When our kids looked at Caroline Lerch, Clair Anton, Rose Stait and Tao Le, they saw veteran athletes committed to winning and improving. All these girls were consistent winners. Although Caroline was never challenged in a meet, she continued to set new personal records all year. Tao worked to make sure we had a strong relay team each week. Dalycia Greely, Samira Dorion, Larissa Thomas, and Julia Phan were all strong contributors to the Sr. girls team.

Lina Wakati battled nagging injuries and was still a threat in every meet. When you add KC Jenkins, Lainey Randall, and Fatima Rocha, you have 5 amazingly fast girls on one team!  Fatimah accepted the challenge of learning high jumping and quickly became the best in Southern Maine! Other members of this powerful group were Grace Gordon, Ella Burdin, Tess Conroy, Sephora Kabala, and Keren Tshibungu.

Recovering from the previous weeks skeleton crew turn out, the King boys’ track team put flesh back on their bones at the early riser’s meet this past Saturday at the Portland Expo. The Atlas like distance squad was again responsible for hauling the largest share of the teams points, reaching deep in the mile, 1000, and senior 440 to secure seconds, thirds, and fourths places. The veteran contingent of seniors stayed true to the course of their leadership, snatching first through third in the high jump, another blue medal in the 300, and second places in both the 40 and hurdles. But the Braveheart trophy of the day’s competition certainly must be awarded to the intermediate boys’ relay team who narrowly scrapped out a second place finish on the last minute substitution of two alternate legs. Stand up job, gentlemen! You can hold your heads high when walking into the Expo this Saturdaywhen you will vie against Lincoln and Moore for the title of city champion.

If you want to audition for "Around the World in 80 Minutes" or just want to know more about it, you will have to attend ONE of three meetings this week: After school today or before school Tuesday or Thursday. TODAY IS DAY 5 - MONDAY, MARCH 6TH

The King boys indoor track team competed superbly in their first meet of season. Close on the tails of the competition throughout the meet, the marauding squad of merry men held the overall margin of victory of both of their challengers to just over 10 points.  Just a few (but not nearly all) of the highlights meriting summary include the efforts of the ever hungry long distance clan who sated their voracious appetites in the mile (first and third), 1000 (second, third, and fourth), and 600 (first and second). Along with 8th grade generals returning to compete in the senior division who took blue ribbons in the hurdles, 240, 300, in addition to capping the day’s events with a victory in the relay of particularly devastating proportions. Stay tuned as the crescendo of “greatness” builds next week as the fleet footed tribe squares off against Windham and Westbrook at 11:30 AM.

"Please note, there will be NO late library today, Monday 3/6."

The knightlife ensemble is meeting this morning  during activity block period. Ensemble only, not chorus.
