To my Uncle, George
Some of my friends said that ‘bout 30 cords or so down the old beaten
path, in Boston, there was a massing of Tory ships in the harbor, and
that they may ambush the town.
Being only a boy eight years of age, I was terrified and went to ask my
father. He replied, "It is none of your concern," and told me I should
go
to bed and he would explain it to me in the morning. Mother came in to
tell
me a story to help me drift asleep. Tonight's story was true of an
event
that happened when I was but 3 years old, “The Story of the Boston
Massacre” one of my personal favorites. She began but was quickly
interrupted by a jarring rap on the door. She insisted I stay in bed
and fall asleep. The last thing I heard was the sound of my mother’s
feet scurrying across the wooden floor in the parlor.

To my Closest Uncle, George
I had awoke to the sound of what sounded like 10,000 anvils crashing
through my home. I glanced out my window to see the silhouettes of
about
eight or so armed men , militia men, laying dead on the road, and what
seemed like millions of British soldiers reloading their guns.
I ran to my father's sleeping room, he nor my mother were there. I
ran to the parlor where I found them sitting and talking. Father says
his friend Paul was right and he should have heeded Paul's warning.
Paul I assume was the one who came to our house earlier that night,
but I still asked who and he responded, a very good friend whom I
should have trusted more thoroughly.
I also overheard him say this is the day we've been waiting for, and
that our neighbor's life was a large casualty in the new sprung war for
something called “Liberty, Revolution and Independence.”

To my Dearest Uncle, George
Following the events of two days ago father talked to me about about
the current state of the colonies, and how Paul was captured with some
man named, William Dawes and that some doctor was involved.
Father was proud to
announce he was the physician that purged him when he had been stricken
by
the Yellow Fever.
John Prescott finished delivering Paul's message to Concord, and I
guess it gives me a false sense confidence. This morning father
announced he was joining the Colonial Militia to pride our family, and
bring peace to the colonies. I hope he fairs well in this bloodbath of
a rebellion.
