Tea Party by Desiree S |

Dear Journal,
My uncle shouted, “Jasmine, Foods done!” Today when he woke me
up, I brushed my long, black hair and cooked some breakfast. I have a
darker tan from walking to my store to get work tools, because I’m
naturally tan. Now I’m much darker. I have on a light yellow
ruffled dress because my uncle is higher class.
I do not like the Loyalists, so therefore, I do not like King George
III either. He should give everyone the right to sell tea. Why do
I dislike the Loyalists? Well they are cruel, and they act as if the
Tea Act is worthless, meaning they do not want the tea dumped. I
dislike following laws as well; it is like being treated as a baby
again.
People ask me if I truly love making shoes, knowing I make tons in just
a single day. Making shoes takes all the time in the day, but people
look up to me because without me making shoes, people would be
barefoot. All shoemakers happen to have a lot of amazing tools also. I
make any type of shoe even custom made. When people ask you to make
them shoes, they want you to be done in just a single hour. It takes
about three hours just to make a pair of shoes. That is how most people
are; they expect everything to be done exactly when they ask. Some
Bostonians have no respect for our hard work.
Before the Loyalists and Patriots were friends but now we have the
utmost hatred for each other,The Tea Act is splitting us all apart.
Loyalists now dislike us, Patriots, but yet, we could care less because
we do not like them either! Mr. Paul Revere and Samuel Adams are also
Patriots and say tea should not just be sold by some people. It should
be fair for others to smuggle and sell tea. I’m really vexed at the
Loyalists, but they are also angry with us.

Dear Journal,
A Loyalist killed a young boy named Christopher Seider with his
musket. They
are like hunters. If they can not have something they want, they get
angry and do immature things sort of like their King George. I see
where it comes from now.
I think the soldiers should just leave! All they do is hurt
others and cause bad things to happen, such as the Massacre. The
soldiers all should go back to England where they belong and leave us
Bostonians alone! I have no room to talk. I wish I could though.
I want to be older so then I can talk about politics and government
topics. I wish I could boycott so many events. I utmost
would like to see change would be the soldiers here. They are
quite annoying, I dare say, and they are not working as soldiers
because they want to, they are soldiers because they either go to jail
or work as a solider. I feel bad though, but most “Lobsterbacks”
are rude. I really feel bad about Christopher Seider. The
way that Loyalist acted was immature in all ways, if he was a man
he should have asked for help or kindly asked them to stop throwing
rocks at him.

Dear Journal,
Today Uncle Allan who I have been living with since I was 3 years old,
poured tea into the Boston Harbor. The Loyalists are mad
now. Everyone is talking about the tea dump. The thing is I
was in town when this amazing event happened. The Boston Harbor
was like a tea pot! Yet King George is about close the
harbor. He really should not do that.
It made some of the Patriots feel good to dump all of the tea, they
started shouting for joy. Why did my uncle join along? He
utmost thought it was the right choice. The taxes is way to
high. I would have dumped tea but only men could, and I feel the
same as he does. Then my uncle said a few words that I will never
forget, “I will never forget this day, it sure feels good to be apart
of a major spark like this one.”
