Welcome to theWindsor 7 ExpeditionFading Footprints |
| Fading Footprints
is an expedition about endangered animals in Maine. Inside you will
find
an amazing collection of work from 67 students containing information
on
everything from the Tomah mayfly to the Atlantic gray whale. This isn't your ordinary expedition here at King Middle School. All 7th graders received an Apple iBook to work with from the Maine Learning and Technology Initiative (MLTI). These laptops gave us new perspectives on research and class work. Instead of waiting for books and computers to become available, we were able to do our research and production on our own schedules, according to our needs. The updated programs on our iBooks also allowed us to create a superior webpage-style interactive CD ROM, rich in artwork and multimedia files. This expedition was packed with exciting ways to consume knowledge. We've had visits from two animal experts and a marvelous trip to the Audubon Society to see some real nature in action. To understand more about all the learning opportunities this expedition provided for the Windsor Seven students, you can check out the documentary video we've made. Our CD release party took place in June at the Maine Audubon Society. We thank everyone that helped with our expedition, especially: David Sparks, Mark McCollough, Mr. Grant, Mr. Comstock, Mrs. Norton, Mrs. Germani, Ms. Martinez, Mrs. Laber, Mrs. MacDonald, Mr. Morgenstein and our principal, Mr. McCarthy. We hope you enjoy our CD. |
