How can the instructional design and final product of an expedition create opportunities for all kids to do their best work?



Goals:
1. Understand the relationship between assessment and differentiation.
2. Explore methods for creating a variety of differentiated learning opportunities to engage all students.
3. Understand how the product design creates opportunities for differentiation.


Time: 180 minutes

Description of Activity:

(Pre-Activity: 1)Watch Riverworks, hand out Activity Sheet for Assess, Diff and Product; 2) Review Book Planning Considerations.)

1. View Countdown to CD-ROM.
2. View the product descriptor for a King species page.
3. Review the Resource Table.
4. Discuss opportunities and strategies for differentiation in products.
5. Review the different parts of the Product and assign responsibilities for remaining pages.
6. Review Web 2.0 resources and differentiation options.
6. Crew Choice:  Review earlier summit CDs, or not?
7. Open Studio.
