Welcome to Colonial Cobblestones

Produced by the Students of York 7 ~ King Middle School ~ Portland, Maine

February 2006
We're glad you've found our website, the product of our seventh grade Fall/Winter expedition.   Take some time to look around!

The website is divided into two sections.  One section consists of individual student pages.
Each page was created by one of our students and contains a narrative, a colonial self-portrait, and an audio recording of an excerpt from their piece of writing.  You can access these pages, in one of two ways.  You can select the "years" on the left hand side,  or you can access them through the Index by Author link, also at the left.

The second section is our Portland Trail.  After walking Boston's famed "Freedom Trail" we designated our own sites in Portland for a trail of our own.  After researching the local sites, groups of students collaborated on a few places that made the trail, and those, too, can be accessed on the left.

So, take a few moments out of your busy day, look around our website, read, listen, and enjoy the labors of the students from York 7.  You may just learn something about American colonial life as you make your way down our colonial cobblestones.
