The Samuel Butts House:
One of the Oldest Structures in Portland

By Matt, Franciska, and Kyle

The Samuel Butts House is the second oldest surviving structure on the Portland peninsula. It is located at 332-334 Fore Street in Portland, Maine. The chimne, roof, and windows are all features of colonial architecture. After a fire in 1886 it was rebuilt by a savings bank.

I think The Samuel Butts House should be on the Portland Freedom Trail because it is one of the oldest buildings in Portland.
