At the start of this time period Native American's began to stand up to the colonists. There was King Philip's War, a multi year battle between the colonists and the Native Americans.  In 1690 there was the Salem, Massachusetts witchcraft hysteria.  It was a time of slavery, uncertainty, and piracy.
