Habitat Loss

Habitat loss is a big problem. It can cause animals to leave their ecosystem and go into another  one that they don't fit into. It can be caused by deforestation which is when people cut down large amount of trees for urban development  (building things like houses and businesses.) Deforestation is bad for animals because it destroys the animals that were living there's homes.

Forest fires can also cause damage and burns down all the trees in that ecosystem.

Pollution is another thing that causes habitat loss! Like pestisides and things like mercury in the water.

Habitat loss can also be caused by things like water develpment. When people do things like building dams in lakes and rivers it effects the animals habitats living upstream and down stream, in places like wetlands and marshes.
Another thing that causes habitat loss is building roads. Making dirt roads can cause erosion and landslides. That would obviously destroy animals living space.   And paved roads have run-off which contaminates the water courses. And it also puts more animals in the road because they wonder onto it and it becomes dangerous.
