One part of ecology is  limiting factors. Limiting factors keep the population of an animal under control. For example if there are two herds of giraffe and the giraffe eat all the leaves and the grass, then the food population would not be under control. Limiting factors can include food, shelter , water, predators, and weather!

Another part of ecology would be diversity of animals. Diversity of animals is having different kinds of animals in one habitat. It is a good idea to have different kinds of species in one habitat because if you don't the population will go down because that one species would have eaten all of the food and there would not be anything left for that animal and they will either move or start eating one another.

Symbiosis is a close ecological relationship between the individuals of two (or more) different species.   Sometimes a symbiotic relationship benefits both species, sometimes one species benefits at the other's expense, and in other cases one benefits but the other is not effected.

Abiotic means nonliving things such as water, soil, rocks, air, weather, wind etc. Biotic means living things such as animals, plants,  and fungi. Abiotic factors are important to the environment because the biotic factors need water and soil for the plants, also biotic factors need air so they can breath.
