| Hunting can mean
many things to many people. But the definition of hunting is the pursuit
and killing or capture of wild animals regarded as a sport. |
|
|
Some people think hunting is wrong because
they think it is unfair to the animals to kill them just for food. Also,
they ask, "why should we kill animals for food when we have fruit and
vegetables?" Another issue is that some people think if we keep
killing animals they will become endangered and possibly extinct. One
of the more important arguments is that hunters were killing too many moose
and they were fading away. To solve that problem, it was believed that
if a hunter wants to kill a moose, they have to enter a raffle. The
raffle makes it so that only a certain amount of moose are killed each year. |

On the other hand, some people think hunting
is a really good way to get food. Also, they
think it is an effective way to keep the animal populations down. If
there were too many of one animal, they might eat all of their prey and
the prey might become endangered or extinct. Another issue is that animals
cause many car accidents and if we keep the population down there will be
fewer accidents and lives will be spared. Animals also eat billions
of dollars worth of fruit and vegetables every year in the US and we could
have better uses for that money. |
