ECOLOGY
&
ECOSYSTEMS
A
limiting factor is anything in an ecosystem that limits the population
of animals in it. An example of a limiting factor would be if
there are to many of one animal in an ecosystem there will not be
enough food for all of them and some will leave the ecosystem. Some
limiting factors are: food, water, shelter, tempature, population,
predators, water tempature, climate and more. An ecosytem is a certain
place were a varity of certain animals live a work together. Symbiosis
is the interaction between animals. The three types of symbiotic
relationships and their defintions are: Mutualism is when both animals
benefit from their relationship, Commensulism is when one animal
benefits and the other is not affected, Parasitism is when one
animal benefits and the other is harmed. Ecology is the study of
ecosystems and how they work. It is important to have many
speicies of animals in an area because without the predator/prey
relationship and so few animals in the area they would all die out
after a while.
